Asmara brings Horn of Africa hospitality to Westlands, with a warm dining room and leafy outdoor spaces on General Mathenge Drive, plus branches in Karen, Lavington and Pangani. The menu pairs Eritrean and Ethiopian favourites (injera with shiro, tibs and vegetable platters that taste like home to many diaspora guests) with contemporary continental dishes like salads and bruschetta. There's ample parking, and it's great for families and groups.

"I was visiting Nairobi and craving food from my country, especially injera. A friend who lives in Nairobi recommended Asmara Restaurant, and this place is amazing. It honestly felt like I was eating my mom’s injera — that’s how good and authentic it is. We had their tibs, kitfo, and kuanta firfir, followed by coffee served with a traditional ceremony. I regret not taking more photos of the foods and the place. An incredible experience, I Highly recommend."
