Flame Tree is the terrace restaurant and bar at Sarova Panafric on Kenyatta Avenue, named after Elspeth Huxley's The Flame Trees of Thika and shaded by a flame tree with bright orange flowers. Mornings bring an extensive breakfast buffet, and lunch and dinner are à la carte, running from home-style favourites to award-winning Pan-African, Continental and Pan-Asian dishes. The terrace is warm and airy, with a hidden garden alongside for a sundowner, and there's occasional live music. Dine-in and takeaway are available from 6:30 am to 11 pm.

"2 nights here before going on safari. Excellent service and choice of food and drink. Breakfast buffet had loads of choice, the coffee was a real treat. We had dinner as an early start the next day, the Ghost Narini was so full of flavour and really tender. Nothing too much trouble for the staff will stay here again!"
