A garden-style cafe by day and bar by night in Lavington, famous for its sandwiches.
Pickled started as a small sandwich delivery run between four friends, and when the pop-ups kept selling out it found a permanent home in Lavington. By day it is a relaxed neighbourhood cafe with garden-style charm, good coffee, strong Wi-Fi and comfortable corners for work or catch-ups. By night the lights dim and the bar takes over, with creative cocktails and a calendar of pub quizzes, game nights, dance classes and wine tastings. The menu is built around freshly made sandwiches, small plates and cafe favourites.
"Nestled away in a seemingly natural oasis of towering trees (providing shade), shrubs, field of grass, and plants is the two floor cafe. There’s comfortable seating if you want to do a high table or couch/lounge chairs with a smaller table. It’s spacious as well. The menu provides a variety of entrees and the food was really good! The service wasn’t the best as it took over 20 minutes to place an order - which only occurred because we went to find another server. Not sure what happened with our server but I’d still recommend to visit. The food is good and the place has a great vibe to it!"
"great brunch restaurant with a nice atmosphere and delicious food and drinks. The restaurant is an open air, making it feel comfortable and relaxing. The staff are friendly, helpful, and always available if you need anything. However, customers are allowed to smoke inside the restaurant, so if you are sensitive to cigarette smoke, you may need to choose your seating carefully. Overall, it’s a wonderful place, and I will definitely come back again."
"Really wanted to enjoy this because the ambience is genuinely lovely. The open space, greenery, and overall atmosphere make it a nice place to sit and unwind, and the hibiscus sparkler was excellent. Unfortunately, the Nashville hot chicken burger was very underwhelming. The chicken was extremely dry and honestly tasted like it may have been refried rather than freshly prepared. I also understand there were supply chain/menu limitations based on the restaurant’s Instagram update that day, which is fair, but I do think the staff could have guided customers toward better available options if certain menu items were not at their best. Overall, the space and drinks were the highlight for me, but the food quality, especially for the burger, did not match the setting or price point."
