Trunk & Tandoor is the Indian-inspired rooftop gastro bar on the 11th floor of Novotel Nairobi Westlands. The kitchen centres on the tandoor: smoky grilled meats and kebabs, lamb chops, galouti kebab and lasooni paneer, alongside rich curries like butter chicken, fragrant biryanis and plenty of vegetarian dishes, with a touch of African flair.
Floor-to-ceiling windows and a terrace give sweeping views over the Westlands skyline, and the bar pours signature cocktails from 3pm until late, with music nights through the week. It works as well for a sundowner as for a date night or a private dinner.
"Trunk & Tandoor – Nairobi, Kenya Visited for Indian food during our stay in Nairobi and overall had a good experience, though it didn’t completely justify the pricing. Started with papad which was decent, although slightly soggy by the time it arrived. The paneer dish looked fantastic presentation wise and the portion size was extremely generous, but the flavours themselves felt a little bland and could’ve used more depth. The standout of the meal was definitely the dal makhani. Rich, creamy and properly comforting, easily the best dish we had there. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere and the overall dining experience was enjoyable, but for the price point we expected the food to hit a little harder across the board."
"This one of the coolest rooftop restaurants in westlands Nairobi. Food and Cocktails were great albeit a little delay in service. I loved the atmosphere.. Alex was also very helpful and polite. This is somewhere I would definitely visit again and recommend"
"We had a fantastic experience. Pauline (Priya) thoughtfully decorated our table after learning we were celebrating, which was such a lovely touch. Steve was a wonderful host and server. The food was delicious, and the ambience was excellent!"
