Forty-day dry-aged steaks from the Josper, inventive sushi and fine wines at Glee Nairobi in Runda.
The Hide is the fine-dining steakhouse at Glee Nairobi on the Northern Bypass in Runda, with a private dining room inspired by Picasso's The Bull. Beef is dry-aged in-house for 40 days and finished in a charcoal Josper oven, from a 900g rib-eye on the bone to picanha and New York strip, alongside 21-day aged pork and Josper-grilled seafood.
The rest of the menu mixes inventive sushi and surf-and-turf rolls, African-inflected mains like blackened salmon with mbongo tchobi and jollof rice, and a strong wine, whiskey and cognac list. Dress code is smart elegant.
"The location is amazing and easily accessible. The ambience was fantastic. We had dinner, and Roggers was exceptional, well versed with the menu and provided great service. Would definitely visit again. The price point is definitely on the higher side."
"We returned for lunch to The Hide, welcomed by a live music performance. The service was worth of 5 stars and food was brilliant as always. They excelled not only in beef dishes but are also experts in sushi and burgers. Opulent interior and atmosphere, delivering stellar experiences for any occasion."
"We had a very pleasant experience at The Hide. From the moment we walked in, the staff welcomed us warmly and had our reservation ready just where I had asked. They were well informed and paid attention to our orders. The meals came in a timely manner & they did not disappoint. So much flavor & creativity in the dishes. My favorite was the salmon sushi roll! A must try when you visit. The passion mocktail was also very good! All in all, it was worth it and I am looking forward to my next visit."
